The “Ralph Roll”
I do this with pants/denim that I haven’t gotten the chance to take to a tailor. A quick and easy cuff to get a tapered-leg look if your pants are naturally a bit wide coming off the rack.
Ralph Lauren credits its own stylists with the technique in its 2016 style guide, The Art of the “Ralph Roll”. It is the Ralph way.
Instructions:
At the hem, pinch the excess fabric at the inside seam and fold it flat against your ankle to narrow the leg opening. Taking in more fabric creates a more tapered look; keep it comfortable rather than tight.
Hold that fold in place and turn the entire hem up once, trapping the folded fabric inside the cuff.
Roll the cuff up a second time to secure it, then adjust it so it sits evenly. Repeat on the other leg.
Denim: Polo Ralph Lauren
Tassel Loafers: Polo Ralph Lauren x Crockett & Jones
